Thought it about time that Mannog Rock DJ (Mannog Moonriver x Moonlight Serenade) got an outing so this Sunday 19th August did my usual trick - out of field, bath, box and to show! Bless him he was absolutely great - did not worry about anything and bearing in mind this is first outing alone for over 12 months he was amazing and I was by myself - no groom or anything (as hubby playing golf ). What a superb temperament.
Anyway turned up at Foxes Riding School on the Wirral
3rd out of 12 in class titled "In hand Showing " - where equines ranged from a Shire x Clydesdale to a Miniature ! Lovely Section A stallion 1st, Anglo Arab 2nd and Rocky 3rd. Judge really liked him - said he would make a wonderful Working Hunter type. Just what I have been saying all along if I could find the right home worthy of him.
Next class was part bred any age : 1st for Rocky and 2nd for something else!
As it was raining throughout both classes were both pretty damp so loaded Rocky and went home. Just so easy.
Anyway we have apparently "qualified" for Blue Chip North West Showing Championships, NCPA 2012 Pony of the Year Show AND Trailblazers Showing Championships 2012/13 series - pays your money and takes your choice.
Pic below was taken in 2011 at Caerwys but Rocky even bigger and more muscled. He is exactly what it says on the tin : 15.2hh small hunter.
