Having collected Fred (Mannog Zips Candy Man) from the Chamfron Stud we swapped him with Rio to be reschooled/worked for a couple of weeks. This did confuse Rock DJ who saw Rio going and Fred coming back (after four weeks) but he worked it out quickly and made sure that Fred knew he was boss.

Rio was originally started by Tim Keeley as a three year old and we were delighted with the results, riding Rio through the local woods and down quiet  country lanes on his own within months of his return.  However due to our lack of keeping up his work consistently through the years (even though we have done beach rides, farm rides and clinics)  Rio has decided that, at times, he "knows best" and with no facilities here  we decided he should be sent for re schooling to get his mind back on the job and Mark at the Chamfron Stud fitted the bill for us.

Rio being ridden on his day of arrival! Apparently a bit of a shock to the system but all going well.   Laura is just worried as to how to keep him clean !!  We have not told Rio that they only offer COLD showers !

Many thanks to Laura Baird for the pics. visit Chamfron Stud web site and facebook page.

Even though Georgia had sat on  Fred as a four year old stallion  with no problems  (see News page item) we decided that at the age of six (and now unfortunately gelded)  it was about about time that Fred did something more with his life than bother Rocky and Rio in the field so we sent him off to Mark & Laura at the Chamfron Stud, Dumfries . After four weeks he has come back and apparently his stay in Scotland went very well and he was happy hacking down the lane and being ridden in the field.

"Quiet as mouse" says Mark.

Mark has done a great job, we are delighted  and Fred is now back home and is being offered for sale to the right long term knowledgeable home who can continue his progress under saddle.

Many thanks to Laura Baird for the wonderful pics.  Visit Chamfron Stud web site and facebook page.
