Mannog Appaloosa Stud is delighted to announce that Mannog April Blues (Amazing Blue  x Lizzie of Larchmont) has won the Appaloosa Championship at Cheshire County Show 2011.  This is the first time registered Appaloosas had a class at Cheshire County and let us hope it continues.

At 18 yrs old April still oozes quality and floats like a dream .  Her trot is truly stunning and always impresses the judges.  She is a joy to show and knows her job.  A real halter type mare.  At Cheshire County  April also  had three grand get entered - one main registered and two part bred.

Having won the Appaloosa Championship this now allows April to enter the Cuddy Supreme In hand Championship on day two - this is for all the in hand champions throughout the two day Cheshire County Show. Watch this space for an update.

Cuddy update:  unfortunately April had to be pulled out unsound - it was immediately apparent to me when starting our individual trot for the judge that April was not feeling right.  A quick look down and she was short striding  on the off fore.  Such a shame but at least we got into the Cuddy ring and she allowed us to win the APPALOOSA CHAMPIONSHIP in the class that really mattered.  At 18 yrs perhaps it was all too much.  We shall never know but she is out with the herd again as alpha mare .  Still two shows and two championships - you cannot ask for more

On a cold blustery day Mannog Rock DJ had his first outing this year. The Caerwys Agricultural Show has everything going on from vintage tractor displays, sheep, cattle and all the normal horsey classes.  So there was a lot to keep Rocky amused to say the least but our boy did good and he coped with it really well.

A bath first thing , loaded and off we went.  This was purely an educational outing for him , the first time in his hunter bridle, so were delighted when he came 2nd out of four in the open youngstock to mature over 14.2hh class.  1st was the most beautiful enormous three year old sports/show horse destined for HOYS/RIHS - so great to see Rocky next to him.  Then the heavens opened so quick dash to horsebox, loaded and home.
